Your Support Will Make a Big Difference 

The DRN is an important support vehicle and resource for enhancing research productivity, grant and publication output, and meaningful collaborative research opportunities. Your support will go toward DRN initiatives and individual faculty to provide them with places and spaces to network, collaborate and enhance their engagement in a supportive community at MSU. 

We would love for you to support faculty and research scholars in attending a beneficial professional development program, writing retreats, or grant trainings in spaces where mentoring and other professional support are available to them. 

 How Your Gift Supports DRN’s Impact 

10 ways your donation directly supports our DRN initiatives: Your gifts and contributions help provide spaces and opportunities for networking, facilitating greater access, community-building and broadening faculty engagement at MSU. The DRN plays an essential role in retaining and recruiting an excellent, and innovative faculty, ensuring an inclusive academic community.  

  • $100 – Provides two “Writer’s Survival Kits” with essential supplies. 
  • $150 – Funds one attendee at the Researcher's Workshop. 
  • $300 – Supports three participants at a spring networking event. 
  • $500 – Covers the cost of one professional development webinar. 
  • $700 – Sponsors one DRN member at the Summer Stay Writing Retreat. 
  • $1000 – Funds one DRN member’s attendance at Mafungo Writing Retreat. 
  • $1500 – Covers an essential grant-career consultant for 3 days at a writing retreat. 
  • $2000 – Provides research preparation support for interdisciplinary group grants. 
  • $5000 – Supports one DRN Launch Award Program (LAP) to initiate or bridge innovative research addressing diverse communities and their challenges from every disciplinary vantage point.  
  • $15,000 – Enables a faculty associate to complete special DRN projects for one semester. 

DRN provides unique and supportive spaces for a broad spectrum of scholars to conduct their work and to support institutional inclusion. The DRN exists to support the success of its members. LAP awards bridge funding to initiate innovative research that addresses diverse populations or disparities. These foundational efforts then build toward external granting success. 

Your contribution will help maintain specialized programs and workshops that are meaningful and productive for scholars, such as the Summer Stay Retreat or the Mafungo Retreat, which are once per year programs.
