Anti-Racist Path
Anti-Racist Path Series Fall 2024
Wednesdays, Oct. 9-Nov. 20, 3-5 p.m.
Location: Snyder Hall, Room C201
The Office for Institutional Diversity and Inclusion Education Team invites you to (re)commit yourself to anti-racism through active participation and self-reflective work. Examine collective and individual interventions for dismantling white supremacy by working toward collective accountability and systemic liberation. Doing this work takes intellectual and emotional labor, so we will also emphasize building social-emotional toolkits.
Learning Goals
- Understand terminology related to racism and anti-racism
- Apply understandings of oppression, white supremacy, anti-racism and transformative justice to real-world contexts
- Analyze the destructiveness and persistence of white supremacy using the characteristics of white supremacy culture and the framework of the four levels of oppression: individual, interpersonal, systemic/institutional and cultural/ideological
- Create a plan of actionable steps to integrate communities of support and anti-racist work into your individual context
- Engage in a community of co-learners to build capacity and support for continued action
