Mina ShinThe Office for Institutional Diversity and Inclusion is thrilled to welcome Dr. Mina Shin to the team. Shin's role as DEI Learning Development Specialist will focus on the DEI Foundations program — the required online educational module for all students and employees. Over the next year, she will connect with key campus partners to develop a new version of the President Samuel L. Stanley Jr., M.D., mandated education for the Michigan State University community.

Having worked at MSU as faculty in the College of Arts and Letters and an academic specialist in International Studies and Programs for more than 14 years, she has extensive experience in teaching, curriculum development, advising, communication, international education and exchange programming and strategic partnership building. Shin earned a master’s and Ph.D. from the School of Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California and a B.A. in Korean Language Education from Seoul National University in South Korea.

Once an international student, now an immigrant woman of color, she brings unique perspectives and voices to IDI and MSU. Please join in congratulating her on this new position.
