Evette Chavez joins as fiscal and human resources officer

On March 21, Evette Chavez joined the Office for Institutional Diversity and Inclusion, or IDI, as the fiscal and human resources officer. She works closely with staff and community partners regarding fiscal and human resources matters. Additionally, Chavez provides support to the annual IDI university-wide programs.

Coming from the Office for Civil Rights and Title IX Education and Compliance, Chavez has a background in fiscal and HR duties as well as event planning, facilities management and executive level support. Prior, she worked in the Women’s Resource Center, The Graduate School and the College of Veterinary Medicine to name a few.

Continuing a long career at Michigan State University that started in 1980, Chavez is thrilled to be joining the IDI where she hopes to bring her knowledge and experience to assist the office.

Chavez is the oldest of seven daughters, has a dog named Cashew and loves to read, paint and hang out at the beach.
