“A Way Forward in Practice: The Myth and Misconceptions about Teaching Race and Racism”

Join Vice President Jabbar R. Bennett, Ph.D. for a conversation with Professor Dorinda Carter Andrews, a nationally recognized racial justice and educational equity scholar. This webinar is an opportunity for teachers to learn about considerations of race and racism in education and learning outcomes.

Professor Andrews is the first Black woman chairperson of the Department of Teacher Education with several graduate programs ranked number one in the nation at MSU’s College of Education. "Teaching people about race and racism works in support of American ideals like inclusion and valuing diverse perspectives," said Andrews.

Professor Andrews has appeared in the New York Times, Education Week, and on WKAR, NPR, CNN and other media outlets sharing insights on racial equity in education.
