July 9, 2024 - Jade Richards
MSU Dialogues will be available as a 1-credit course in fall 2024 under UGS at the 200 level. Scheduled to open in October, this course offers students the chance to enhance their professional development and skill set.
Originating in 2018 under the guidance of Donna Kaplowitz and further developed by Jackie Heymann, the course has evolved to incorporate an intersectional approach to identities. The current iteration of dialogues has evolved through partnerships, community feedback and educator input.
Students will have the opportunity to develop essential communication skills with the aim of fostering connected and safer dialogues across diverse backgrounds. This course will complement the existing dialogue programs and opportunities available on campus.
MSU Dialogues program is an intergroup dialogue initiative designed for students, faculty, and staff at Michigan State University. It offers a structured learning opportunity that brings individuals from diverse identity groups together for an extended period of time.
