The 3rd Side is an interactive and outcome-oriented conference to:

  • Highlight more than 10 organizations presenting their histories, missions, goals, activities, and specific needs for sustaining and increasing their work.
  • Develop strategies for generating needed support of these and other grassroots partnerships in this large and growing movement actively building toward peace in the region.

Since Oct. 7th many are deeply distressed by the crisis in Palestine and Israel; distressed by the crisis of leadership at the governmental and large systems level to stop the mounting violence; and looking for some way to support a cessation of violence and advance healing, reconciliation and peace. At the same time most in the public are only limitedly aware or not aware at all of the many long standing and growing grassroots organizations bridging the divide to achieve these ends, some operating for decades.

There are well over 200 grassroots, non-governmental organizations effectively working on peace efforts, and among these dozens of joint partnerships with their feet in both communities working closely together and demonstrating every day what is possible. This initiative is one way we have chosen to assist - by addressing the growing wish among many for ways to end the violence, address core issues and support sustainable peace and the general lack of awareness of the many active and dedicated peacebuilding efforts that do exist and are in immediate need of support to maintain and bolster this movement.

The event is nonpartisan, open to the public, and free to be inclusive and attract many to learn of this 3rd side in the conflict; a side made up of committed peacebuilding partners that has consistently fallen under the radar of major media that continually presents a narrow and bleak picture of only 2 sides in perpetual hostility and zero-sum conflict.

This conference is the 2nd in a series of nonpartisan events promoting grassroots Palestinian-Israeli peace-building partnerships. Plans are to hold additional events in the coming months to highlight more organizations and to reach and engage a wider portion of the public in generating support.
